One and a half!

I remember Ryker constantly walking around with a phone in his hand jabbering away with the proper intonation and cadence of a real conversation.  Man, I would have loved to know what he was saying, because some of those conversations were pretty intense!  Just wish I would have thought to get a video of this.

He said his first recognizable words (a late bloomer in the language department).  We were listening to NPR in the car and they were doing a news broadcast that kept repeating "President Obama", all of a sudden from the backseat I hear "O-ba-ba".  He said it over and over and even said it correctly a few times.  Also, when we were at Dick's sporting goods there was a plastic owl that intrigued Ryker, when Jon told him about the owl he very clearly said "owl".

He loves to help clean, scrub, and dust (we will see how long that lasts).  He also enjoys everyone else's lap but mine.  When we go to the library program he lap-surfs.

We said goodbye to our house toward the end of June.  It was a bittersweet time, but we are looking forward to the next chapter.

Thanks to Jon's new job, we got to spend a few months hanging out with the Brewer side of the family in Minnesota.  Luckily, it was the the absolute best time of the year to be there.  Ryker had a blast  with his cousins, grandparents, and aunts and uncles.

His favorite past time - mowing.  Walked around the yard with that mower for what seemed like hours. Great training for mowing our yard when he gets old enough (Daddy is counting down the days).
